Vonj always fires up a bass storm during the gigs and I have put this guy in a class of his own, I tried to find someone to relate his style to, perhaps someone could help me with that because I’m lost, I keep drifting towards Flea but Vonj keeps pushing me away from that as he funks peoples heads up with his own thing approaching Larry Graham, either way I look at it I get the impression he’s something unique.

Whilst I have the bassist in my

sights, it also strikes me that there is a healthy economy of notes in

his playing on many of the songs, instead of trying to show off and

play ten notes, this man knows that finding the right two notes

instead makes for a much better song.

All fears were dispelled when on the sound check in the packed venue Vonj the bassist threw out a riff that hooked the whole damn room.
